Enventure joins Waste Implementation Programme (WIP)
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) have recently invited Enventure to become one of the preferred framework contractors to provide communications advice for the Waste Implentation Programme (WIP).
The Waste Implementation Programme (WIP) was set up to respond to the strategic measures recommended by the Strategy Unit (SU) report "Waste Not, Want Not" published in November 2002, and the Government's Official Response.
Acting on the Strategy Unit recommendations and targets below, WIP's programmes are designed to implement and support waste management solutions up the waste hierarchy, improving the sustainability of waste management:
- By 2010 to reduce biodegradable municipal waste landfilled to 75% of that produced in 1995
- By 2013 to reduce biodegradable municipal waste landfilled to 50% of that produced in 1995
- By 2020 to reduce biodegradable municipal waste landfilled to 35% of that produced in 1995

- New Technologies
- Data
- Waste Infrastructure Development Programme
- Efficiencies
- Waste Minimisation
- Kerbside
- Waste Awareness
