07 02 08 Promoting alternate weekly collections in Carmarthernshire

We are pleased to announce a new working partnership between Carmarthernshire County Council and Enventure.

From the beginning of February, Carmarthernshire County Council will be rolling out their new Alternate Weekly Collection scheme to over 10,000 households in the Whitland, Laugharne, St Clears, Burry Port, Pembrey and Kidwelly areas. To raise awareness of the new scheme for dry and residual waste with a particular focus on food waste collection, Enventure will be undetaking a targeted doorstepping campaign.

In addition to this, we will be also monitoring and evaluating the existing kerbside scheme to identify the areas that have participation and contamination issues. This will then be followed up with a doorstepping campaign to approximately 5,000 households to raise awareness about these issues and educate householders to improve the quantity and quality of recyclate collected in the County.
