11 04 08 Streets Ahead Consultation
Initial research conducted by Streets Ahead East Shipley indicated that older people living in East Shipley were unaware where services were located or where to find them. Enventure was commissioned to undertake research with older people to provide further information regarding access to services and understand what would encourage older people to use services.
The objectives to the research were two fold. Firstly, to understand the reasons behind older people failing to access services in East Shipley while gaining insight into factors that might encourage them to use services. The second objective was to provide residents with information about the various services available to older people living in the area, including the Access Bus and the HALE Networker Scheme.
A face-to-face methodology was employed to enable interviewers to provide information on various schemes, and also to ensure that people who rarely leave the house were included in the research.
