Sheffield City Council commissioned Enventure Research to undertake a face-to-face survey with Sheffield residents about their perceptions and attitudes towards the introduction of sign only 20mph areas across the city. A total of 250 residents were interviewed within five 20mph areas, and in areas of high footfall such as shopping areas and the City Centre. The results of the survey were directly compared to two previous surveys, which has enabled us to assess what the safety schemes have achieved as part of our evaluation of the 20mph programme. We were very pleased with the work carried out by the Enventure team, especially as we had limited resources and tight timescales, and would not hesitate to work with Enventure Research again.
Senior Transport Planner, Sheffield City Council
We commissioned Enventure Research to undertake face-to-face interviews with residents across all ten Greater Manchester authorities as part of the Greater Manchester Combined Authorities Strategy Refresh. Overall, 800 residents were interviewed and asked a series of questions about living and working in Greater Manchester, whilst considering eight strategic themes; Transport, Housing and planning, Health and social care, Police and crime, Business and investment, Public service reforming, Skills and employment, Energy efficiency and low carbon. We were very pleased with how Enventure Research undertook the work, particularly as we had some very tight reporting deadlines to meet. We found the team to be professional and were very pleased with the final research report.

Bolton Council employed Enventure to undertake 2,000 exit surveys with customers in our shopping centres over the Christmas period. From the outset the team were very efficient in organising the fieldwork and were available for any queries. The fieldwork was completed on time and within budget. As a client I received regular updates and a professional report with detailed analysis. I would not hesitate to use them again for similar work.
Principal Consultation & Research Officer, Bolton Council
"Thank you to Matt for his help and support throughout the process, no problems at all regarding any queries we had which made the process a lot easier. Our experience with Enventure Research was a very positive one."
Swale Borough Council
"One of the most straightforward and uncomplicated project commissions I have been involved in procuring. Enventure's understanding of our project requirements was very quick and easy to establish. As a result, the project moved very quickly into the delivery phase without any time wasted on unnecessary meetings. Consultation results and recommendations provided will provide a robust evidence base to inform review of a key Council policy."
East Lindsey District Council
"The General Optical Council has worked with Enventure Research to deliver two large-scale research projects – our Registrant and Public Perceptions Surveys. Enventure Research’s management of both projects was excellent, from inception and planning through to the fieldwork, analysis and reporting of the results. The research involved both quantitative and qualitative methodologies with optical professionals and the general public, and Enventure Research provided research materials that effectively collected useful data and feedback from both these audiences. Their reporting of the research findings was excellent, as they clearly and succinctly communicated the key findings, helping the GOC to draw actionable conclusions and recommendations, utilising their understanding of healthcare regulation. They also delivered the research findings to our Council in engaging presentations, which received very positive feedback. They are a small and dedicated team of researchers who provide an enthusiastic, hands-on approach to research. We hope to work with Enventure Research on other research projects in the future."
General Optical Council
"We commissioned Enventure Research to carry out some focus groups with residents, community groups and partners, to consult on the Council’s new strategy and underlying policies. They delivered a high quality consultation in tight timescales and delivered reports to us in a timely way. Joanne was very easy to work with and there was a good level of communication throughout the project to ensure that we were kept informed of progress and any issues were addressed quickly. Enventure Research were very flexible and adapted well to a change in scope during the project timeline. We would recommend them highly for any high level consultation project."
Gloucestershire County Council
"We appointed Enventure to carry out doorstepping in St Albans to approach residents and talk about their recycling scheme, offer advice and help where needed, and to ask a few key questions to help us plan changes to the waste and recycling services. Enventure’s engagement officers spoke to just over 7,000 residents. From the work they did and their findings from the survey, we revised our collection service and switched to a co-mingled collection, as the feedback from the team was that residents would be more inclined to recycle and would recycle more if they could put everything in one bin. In addition, we also introduced weekly food collections and reduced the size of the residual bin. Within six weeks we had hit our target and it looks like it will increase as things settle down and everyone gets used to the changes. We were very pleased with the way the project was delivered by Enventure and the way the project shaped our new service."
Recycling and Waste Officer, St Albans City and District Council
"Waverley Borough Council commissioned Enventure Research to refresh its Citizens’ Panel, as the original panel had seen a decline in responses and we needed to recruit new residents. The Enventure team understood our requirements perfectly and used a mixed approach including postal and online to recruit residents. During a two month period the team managed to recruit nearly 1,000 new panel members. We were very happy with the outcome and the way the project was managed and would recommend Enventure Research."
Corporate Policy Manager, Waverley Borough Council
"We worked with Enventure Research to better understand the attitudes, motivations and barriers of residents in Calderdale to help shape our behaviour change communications strategy. Residents were asked about attitudes to healthy lifestyles, public transport, walking, cycling, 20mph speed limits and more. Some of the results were surprising and from better understanding local barriers and motivations we are now able to use this insight to enrich national insight and shape our communication strategies and plans. Enventure provided excellent advice, clear updates during the research and an easy to understand presentation of results. Enventure also advised on how we could do this within a tight budget whilst ensuring that the research was representative of Calderdale. Mark and his team were really easy to work with and highly recommendable for any future research needs."
