Public perceptions of the relationships between universities and the police

May 11, 2017

Enventure Research has been appointed by Liverpool University to undertake a survey exploring public perceptions of the relationships between universities and the police. The research is being funded from multiple sources, including the Higher Education Funding Council of England and a number of universities and police forces.

The survey, developed in partnership between Enventure Research and Liverpool University, will explore a number of key topics, including interest in police matters, what is most important to the public with regard to police matters, and the role of university researchers in studying and producing knowledge related to the police.

The survey will be administered on-street by experienced Interviewer Quality Control Scheme accredited interviewers in 22 different sampling points across the North of England during July 2017. Two hundred interviews will be undertaken in each police area with quotas set to ensure that those interviewed are representative of each area.

Once all 2,200 interviews have been completed, Enventure Research will report back on the findings to Liverpool University and its partners.
