Essex County Council commissioned Enventure Research to undertake a two-phase online survey of a representative sample of residents about their behaviours and attitudes towards waste and recycling. The survey was designed to evaluate residents’ preferences towards different options for collecting waste and recycling, understand the perceived importance of recycling and identify any barriers to recycling. The survey was developed in partnership between Essex County Council and Enventure Research.
The survey was hosted securely online by Enventure Research. Invitations to the survey were sent by email to Research Now online panellists. In the first wave, 700 respondents took part and a representative sample of Essex residents was achieved in regards to age and gender.
A week later, the invitations to the second wave survey were sent out to respondents who had taken part in the first wave. In the second wave, 400 responses were achieved.
Following quality checks, Enventure Research sent the raw data for each wave to Essex County Council for detailed analysis.
