Neighbourhood Policing Campaign Evaluation – West Yorkshire Police

west york police

The Challenge
• Following an outdoor advertising campaign designed to improve public confidence and satisfaction in neighbourhood policing throughout the Kirklees district, Enventure Research was commissioned to evaluate its impact

The Approach
• A mixed methodology approach was taken in the form of an on-street survey and focus groups with residents to assess the extent to which they had noticed the adverts in their local community, as well as their perceptions and awareness of neighbourhood policing
• The on-street survey was completed by 126 residents across four areas of Kirklees, ensuring that a minimum of 30 interviews had been completed in each of these
• To explore the survey topics in greater depth, two 90-minute focus groups were held with a total of 21 residents in Huddersfield and Dewsbury and moderated by Enventure’s skilled researchers
• West Yorkshire Police conducted an independent postal survey alongside this research to be taken into account during analysis and reporting where relevant

The Outcome
• Following detailed analysis of the survey data and qualitative feedback from the focus groups, Enventure Research provided West Yorkshire Police with a final research report, providing them with a deep understanding and evaluation of the neighbourhood policing campaign
• West Yorkshire Police used the research to inform guidance on future campaigns and other communications activity

“Excellent service, delivered in very tight timescales. Would definitely use again..”
