Successful End to Western Riverside Doorstepping Campaign

Jan 15, 2015

The second recycling doorstepping campaign undertaken by Enventure Research on behalf of Western Riverside Waste Authority (WRWA) has now drawn to a close.  Enventure Research’s experienced team of 16 full time Recycling Promoters visited 50,000 target properties across the four constituent boroughs of Lambeth, Wandsworth, Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea over a five-week period.  Successful contact was made with 15,382 residents by the doorstepping team (a contact rate of 31%).

During the doorstep visit, a short conversational script was used to ensure all topics were covered and to collect useful information about recycling attitudes and habits.  The script covered topics such as usage of the recycling services, types of materials recycled, contamination issues, encouragement factors to recycle more, barriers to recycling participation, promotion of the full range of services and satisfaction with the services provided.

The main aims of the campaign were to encourage non-participating residents to start recycling, encourage residents already participating to recycling more and to encourage all residents to recycle correctly, in order to reduce contamination.

Following fieldwork completion, Enventure Research provided comprehensive reporting on the findings, highlighting key findings from the doorstepping activity.
